Osprey Colour Series (Aviation) : Display Pilot : Flying the RAF's Combat Aircraft
A detailed, behind-the-scenes account of the technicalities of airshow flying from the point of Harrier demonstration pilot Flight Lieutenant Rob Lea. He and his display team complete a hectic summer season, ranging from Shuttleworth to Dubai. Rob Lea writes a journal of his RAF pilot training, his selection to be a display pilot, and then a detailed description of his first season flying airshows in the unique vertical takeoff and landing Harrier attack jet. The last third of this 128 page book involves demonstration pilots for many other RAF aircraft and what it's like to perform in them at airshows. The balance between text and photos is very good (half and half). Text by Rob Lea.
