Osprey Modelling 24 : Modelling the F4U Corsair
The F4U Corsair had a long and distinguished service career. The first land-based Corsair Marines squadron entered frontline service in February 1943, and the famous 'Jolly Rogers', VF-17, became the first US Navy Corsair unit to see action shortly after. The Corsair also served with the British Fleet Air Arm and the Royal New Zealand Air Force. Postwar, it also served in Korea, with the French Navy, and in various Latin American Air Forces. This book showcases seven separate Corsair variants modelled across 1/32, 1/48 and 1/72 scales. Among the aircraft featured are an F4U-1 Birdcage, an F4U-1A from VF-17 'Jolly Rogers', a Fleet Air Arm Corsair Mk.II, a Korean War F4U-4, and an F4U-7 French Corsair. Text by Brett Green.
